Lego Marvel Avengers (Endgame) 76125; Iron Man Hall of Armor: You know you're rich when this is your wardrobe

Ever since Iron Man 1, and especially Iron Man 3, there has been one set Marvel fans and MCU fans have been wanting for a very long time. The Hall of Armours, a place where Tony Stark stores all of his suits, creates new ones and deploys them as needed. It's an iconic location that people have been wanting to see in Lego form for a long time, especially thanks to all the Iron Man variants there has been over the years. Now that it's been a few weeks since the movie came out, I don't feel bad by saying that this wasn't in Endgame, however, it does fill a role that I hope Lego continue with going forward, but more on that later.

Starting with the minifigs, the variety isn't there in terms of broad strokes, you have four versions of Iron Man as minifigs, only one of which has a minifig face, a brick built Iron Man suit, and two Outriders which I still don't have more to say on. However, when you look at the suits here, there are more interesting things going on. You get another Mk 50, which was the suit used in the two Infinity War Sets Iron Man was in, and three never before seen suits (in terms of minifigs). The Mk 1 (the suit he wore when escaping the cave in Iron Man 1), the Mk 5 (the suitcase suit that while it was in a set for Iron Man 3, it was in its briefcase form, this is the first time seeing the suit as a minifig) and the Mk 41, code name Bones (a suit seen in Iron Man 3 designed to be a minimalist design for fast travel). The brick built suit as well is the Mk 38, code name Igor, a heavier, brawler kind of suit). While I would have prefered the Mk 50 be replaced with another suit, due to that suit being in two of the Infinity War Sets already, the other minifig suits are well done. People have their issues with Igor, and I do get why, as the construction of it is rather flimsy, but it is a nicely articulated suit and a fun little mini build to go along with the set. You also get a little Dum-E as well here, which is a lot more basic, but there wasn't a lot that could be done to make it more complicated at that size.

If you only want the set for the minifigs, then you're in luck because a lot of people are selling spares they have (or at least did, these do take a while to write and release). This set is designed to be expanded on with multiples, which while I have an issue with that due to the price of the set (something that could have been cut down a bit by taking out the two Outriders), this certainly feels better at that task compared to something like the Battle of Wakanda set from Infinity War, which had parts to make it so that you could buy multiples to expand it, but it never felt like you should. The build is very repetitive, due to the structure being made up of chunks with the exact same build to it, with the only variety coming from very small extras, or larger, but still basic builds like the satellite and the suit up station. As a result, it's hard to recommend this for playability, as there isn't much here that's playable. This is certainly a display piece first and foremost, a place where Iron Man fans can display all of their Iron Man suits, and any others that he's made like the War Machine variants, and the Iron Spider.

That being said though, the reason why I hope Lego continues this idea is because sets like this are really good for getting sets out in time for movies, without giving away the movies. I don't think anyone would complain if we saw Legacy sets from the movies, or even movie themed takes on Comic book moments to help fill in the gaps between movies. There are plenty of moments that haven't been turned into sets yet due to them being spoilers for their time and would give people another chance to get characters they've missed, or were once exclusives that they couldn't get in their country (looking at you Yellowjacket and Wong). It would certainly be a change of pace when compared to the "We pulled this out of nowhere for the sake of making a set" kind of releases. Next week I'll be covering something that actually was in the movie, the Ultimate Quinjet.
